CLARC is an health and wellness center whose mission is to help individuals with a history of a mental illness get and keep gainful employment in the community by:
  • providing computer training and employment services, including job coaching, job searching, and placement assistance;
  • sponsoring special recreational activities, including picnics, holiday parties, and trips;
  • networking individuals to social service agencies to meet their
    housing, medical, financial, food, and clothing needs;
  • advocating for clients at montgomery county government agencies, as well as state-wide non-profit advocacy organizations;
  • conducting seminars on mental health and employment topics.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO USE THE CENTER?

People who have received professional help for past or present psychiatric disabilities are eligible to become members. They seek therapeutic and/or medical services from a wide range of mental health providers, such as the following:

  • Psychiatrists
  • Psychologists
  • Licensed clinical social workers
  • Clergy and pastoral counselors
  • Peer support groups
  • Physicians

NOTE: Newcomers need to schedule an appointment for a brief orientation to the Center.
